The Wise old Owl… if Wisdom comes from instinct to be alive then yes they are wise, yet brain size for these birds is comparably small. In fact, eyeballs can take up more space in that head than the brain, therefore priority is more about the essential tools of survival more than working out a crossword when they are bored or considering the view. An interesting thought, when you look at how diverse and complex life becomes when brainpower is a considerable influence. For these birds, finding food, avoiding danger, responding to predators, finding a mate and finding shelter is about as exciting as life gets, they vary little from the hard wired setting of just being, something us humans are so very removed from.
